Happy deer awareness day!
Today, March 11, is deer awareness day. I understand that it helps remind the public about the problems affecting the species. According to U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, these problems include health issues, such as obesity and vitamin deficiencies, getting hit by cars, and habitat loss due to suppressed fires, development, and rise in sea level.
To celebrate my birthday (March 1), we had gone to Bandipur. At Bandipur, there were exuberant amounts of deer! In the 4 safaris we went on, I am sure that I saw a minimum of 1,000 deer!
One day, in the safari, we saw a mother deer (Spotted) and her kid going around a water hole. The prominent deer in the frame is the mother, and, on the other side, is the kid.
